This Privacy Policy explains how AutoResume ("AutoResume", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you access or use the AutoResume website, applications, APIs, AI tools, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you acknowledge the practices described here. This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms. We collect the following categories of information: Account information. Name, email address, password hash (if applicable), authentication identifiers from third-party providers (e.g., Google), profile photo, and account preferences.; Resume and career content. Information you provide or upload to build resumes and cover letters, including employment history, education, certifications, licenses, contact details, location, work authorization, skills, photos, and any other content you choose to include ("Resume Data"). Resume Data may include sensitive categories such as health, disability, religion, or veteran status if you choose to include them — please do not submit sensitive data unless you intend to.; Payment information. Billing name, billing address, last four digits of card, card brand, expiration, and transaction history. Full payment card numbers are processed by our payment processor and are not stored by us.; Communications. Messages you send us, support requests, and survey responses.; Usage and device data. IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, language, referring URL, pages and features accessed, timestamps, crash and error logs, performance data, and approximate location derived from IP.; Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies, local storage, session storage, pixels, and SDKs used for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and (where applicable) advertising.; AI prompts and outputs. The prompts you submit and the AI Output generated for you, retained to provide and improve the Service and to support troubleshooting and abuse prevention.; We use personal information to: Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service.; Generate AI-assisted resumes, cover letters, summaries, and analyses you request, including transmitting your inputs to third-party AI providers acting on our behalf.; Authenticate users, prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access, and enforce our Terms.; Process payments, manage subscriptions, and provide receipts.; Communicate with you about your account, transactional matters, security alerts, product updates, and (where permitted) marketing.; Measure and improve the Service, develop new features, and conduct internal analytics and research.; Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and exercise or defend legal claims.; Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data based on (a) your consent, (b) the performance of a contract with you, (c) compliance with a legal obligation, or (d) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service, balanced against your rights. To generate AI Output, we send your prompts and relevant Resume Data to third-party AI providers under contractual restrictions limiting their use of that data to providing the requested service. We do not authorize these providers to use your Resume Data to train their general-purpose models, except where you have separately opted in. AI Output may be inaccurate or fabricated; see our Terms for your responsibilities regarding AI Output. We share personal information only as described below: Service providers / processors. Hosting, database, AI model, payment, email, analytics, customer support, and security providers that process data on our behalf under written agreements.; At your direction. When you choose to download, share, or send a resume or cover letter to a third party (e.g., an employer or job board), that disclosure is made by you, not by us.; Legal and safety. When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AutoResume, our users, or the public, or to investigate or prevent suspected fraud or abuse.; Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.; With your consent. For any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection or with your explicit consent.; We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and security, and functional and analytics cookies to understand usage and improve the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may break parts of the Service. Where required, we will request consent before placing non-essential cookies. We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize Your Content within a commercially reasonable period, except for information we are required or permitted to retain (for example, transaction records for tax and accounting, security logs, and backup snapshots that age out on a rolling schedule). We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to or from the Service. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials. We and our service providers may process personal information in the United States and other countries that may have data-protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers of personal data outside the EEA, UK, or Switzerland. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. EEA, UK, and Swiss residents have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR. You can exercise rights from your account settings or by contacting privacy@autoresume.xyz . We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information may contact us at the address below. Testimonials, sample resumes, screenshots, statistics, and other promotional material on our marketing pages may be illustrative, stylized, exaggerated, or generated by AI (including names, faces, employer names, and quotes), and may depict composite or hypothetical scenarios. Personal information shown in such material is either fictional, AI-generated, or used with consent. See our Terms of Service for more detail. We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
